Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton to miss entire 2025-26 season

INDIANAPOLIS (WNDU) - Indiana Pacers star point guard Tyrese Haliburton will miss the entire 2025-26 season after surgery to repair a torn right Achilles tendon.

The news comes as no surprise, as Achilles injuries typically have a lengthy recovery time.

According to NBC Sports, Pacers president Kevin Pritchard said the team would rather get Haliburton fully healthy than risk having him play at all this upcoming season.

Haliburton suffered the injury during the first quarter of Game 7 of the NBA Finals last month. Without Haliburton, the Pacers were outscored by the Oklahoma City Thunder 56-43 in the second half and the Thunder clinched their first NBA title since they were known as the Seattle SuperSonics.

Haliburton, the driver of the Pacers’ up-tempo offense, averaged 18.6 points, 9.2 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.4 steals in 73 games this past regular season and was selected to the All-NBA third team.
