Leeds United are understood to be prioritising a move for a new striker in the current transfer window.
Despite ending the Championship as the top scorers, the Whites are aware of the gulf in class between the Premier League and England’s second tier.
Daniel Farke counted on Joel Piroe last season but wants to upgrade his attacking ranks in the coming weeks.

It’s understood that they are ready to spend what is required in order to bring that player to Elland Road.
The Whites will enter negotiations and be smart with their talks in order to get the best deal.
The transfer fee on the striker is expected to take out a sizeable chunk of the budget for this window.

Josh Sargent should not be considered at Elland Road this summer
Leeds United should avoid signing Josh Sargent, as he lacks the top-flight consistency needed for the Premier League’s demands.
His limited impact in prior Premier League seasons \suggests he may struggle against elite defences.
Instead, Leeds should target a proven striker from Europe’s top five leagues, averaging 10-15 goals per season.
Such a player would offer physicality, clinical finishing and experience to lead Leeds’ attack, ensuring competitiveness in the Premier League and aligning with Farke’s high-pressing system.
Hopefully, there is progress being made on that front as Farke has made it clear that it’s what he would want this summer.
