Junior Firpo has officially left Leeds United after contract expired on 30 June.
The Dominican left-back played a huge role in helping Leeds to get promoted. His departure leaves a notable gap in the Whites defences.

Gudmundsson emerges as number one target for Leeds
Lille left-back Gabriel Gudmundsson has emerged as the preferred choice to take Firpo’s left-back slot.
Gudmundsson, 26, is the number one choice for his country Sweden. He has proven himself in Ligue 1 and the Champions League with Lille.

He has a good fitness record, having made 45 appearances for the French side last season.
Gudmundsson has been spotted in Leeds, where he is due to thrash out personal terms with the club’s executives.
From here, it will be hoped that he can become the club’s latest signing.

Ben Chilwell tipped to be a great signing for Leeds
Not long ago, Ben Chilwell was being tipped to start for England at a major tournament.
He won the Champions League with Chelsea in 2021 and was regularly shutting out the world’s best wingers.
Chilwell has been frozen out at Chelsea since then. Last season, he was on loan at Crystal Palace but didn’t get as many minutes as he would like.
Still, Chilwell could be a dependable alternative for Leeds, and would likely be available at a reasonable price.
Charlie Cresswell can play left-back as well as in the centre of defence
Charlie Cresswell emerged as a target to resign for Leeds after his impressive performances for England under-21s in the recent European Championships.
England won the tournament, and Cresswell played a major role in that achievement.
Leeds sold Cresswell to Bordeaux for £3.8 million last summer, but that transfer is quickly proving to be an error in judgment for the Whites.

While primarily a centre-half, Cresswell can also fill in at left-back adequately.
However, for this move to happen, Leeds would have to pay significantly more than what they sold him for.
