Blazers officially acquire Holiday for Simons, no picks swapped

PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - The Portland Trail Blazers officially acquired guard Jrue Holiday from the Boston Celtics on Monday, the team announced.

The trade, initially reported June 23, sends guard Anfernee Simons - the longest-tenured player on Portland’s roster - to Boston.

Portland was expected to send a pair of future second-round picks to the Celtics as well, but the picks were not part of the finalized deal.

The 35-year-old Holiday averaged 11.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game for the Celtics last season, over 62 starts.
