The NFL has mastered being front and center in the sports news world for 11 out of the 12 months on the calendar. However, from about mid-June till the end of July, there is very little going on around the league. That is why any little morsel of content excites the fans.
This is exactly what happened on Monday when Patrick Mahomes appeared on the Up & Adams show hosted by Kay Adams. During the interview, Adams asked Mahomes to frame the Kansas City Chiefs' mentality in response to questions about a "revenge tour" going into the 2025 season.
Mahomes' response suggests just how annoyed he is with how the Chiefs have been covered this offseason following the Super Bowl loss.

Mahomes said, "You know I'm honestly just ready to play football again. Whenever you lose, you kind of have this taste in your mouth, and you want to go out there and avenge that or whatever you want to say."
He added, "But at the same time I feel like I've had to sit back and just listen to people talk and talk and I'm like let's just play football and handle it all out there."
Mahomes' comments reflect some Chiefs fans' feelings about the discourse around their team, too. Sure, Kansas City is coming off a bad Super Bowl loss, but to say they are on a revenge tour is a stretch.
Over the past seven season, the Chiefs have been to six Super Bowls, winning three and losing three. Furthermore, they were the best team in the AFC las year with a 15-2 record. Of course, they are looking to get revenge on the team that defeated them in the Super Bowl the Philadelphia Eagles, but they don't necessarily need revenge on the rest of the NFL.
When it comes to on-field production, Kansas City's offense is gearing up for a bounce-back 2025 campaign. Therefore, it makes sense why the competitor in Mahomes would rather get back on the field to show what makes the Chiefs great rather than talk about it.
