Newcastle United have already started making moves in the transfer market ahead of their Champions League campaign next season.

Lloyd Kelly’s loan move to Juventus last season has been made permanent for £15 million, whilst Antonito Cordero has arrived from Malaga on a free transfer.

Alongside these Newcastle have also been weighing up offers for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, Manchester United duo Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho, and recent Everton departure Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

However, The Magpies are on the verge of signing former Manchester United attacker, Anthony Elanga.

Fabrizio Romano has given the move his iconic “here we go” as a deal has been agreed for £55 million.

It’s understood that a long-term agreement is also in place with Elanga himself, although the contract details are yet to be confirmed.

The pursuit from Newcastle has come on the back of Elanga’s impressive season with Nottingham Forest, having supported them to hold third place in the Premier League for over four months.

Now, Anthony Elanga is headed to St James Park to join Eddie Howe’s side in their bid to further improve on their fifth place finish last season.

Elanga is a product of the Manchester United youth academy, having joined The Red Devils in 2015 at the age of 13.

After nine years with the club and 55 appearances at senior level, grabbing four goals and four assists, Elanga moved to Nottingham Forest in 2023 for £14 million.

Now, two years on, with 11 goals and 21 assists in 82 games, Elanga is set to take on the next challenge of his career with Newcastle United.
