It was back to work at our New York training base for the Blues this morning, as head coach Enzo Maresca oversaw the final preparations for tomorrow's Club World Cup semi-final against Fluminense.
Our place in the semi-finals was sealed on Friday evening as we produced a composed display to overcome Palmeiras 2-1 in Philadelphia.
Another Brazilian side stands between Chelsea and a place in the final. Fluminense are unbeaten thus far in the tournament and have eliminated Inter Milan and Al-Hilal en route to the last four.
It's why Maresca expects a difficult game, especially given how Brazilian sides have performed throughout the Club World Cup.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, the Blues head coach said: 'There are two things for me that are very clear, and one is that the quality of Brazilian players is top, the best quality.
'At the same time, what is also very clear is the energy that they have in this moment compared to other teams that, for different reasons, we don’t have. So for me, it’s the quality and the energy from the teams [that have helped them perform strongly].'
The Blues will be without Romeo Lavia against Fluminense; the midfielder has yet to recover from a muscular issue sustained against Benfica but is back in individual training.
Levi Colwill and Liam Delap, meanwhile, are suspended as both have received two yellow cards during the tournament.
Delap's absence will mean a change to who leads the Chelsea attack. Nicolas Jackson is available and is an option, as is new arrival Joao Pedro, who made his Blues debut against Palemiras.
The quality of both is undeniable, but Maresca has highlighted the differences in their respective games.
He said: ‘Joao can play all the attacking positions for us. He can play wide, he can play inside the pitch, he can play as a nine. I see Nico just as a nine, while I see Joao in different positions.
‘For sure, I think Joao, Liam and Nico – the strikers we have at this moment – they know exactly about being the No.9 at Chelsea.
'I have said many times, in my mind and idea, I prefer to have four or five players scoring 10 or 12 goals each than one player scoring 40 goals.
'You could see in the season what we have done with Noni (Madueke), what we have done with Enzo Fernandez, and we expect next season more goals from all our attacking players.
'But the ones who play as a nine with us, they know exactly Chelsea’s history.'
