Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs suffered an embarrassing loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl, coming up short of becoming the first team in NFL history to win three consecutive Super Bowls.
The Chiefs have, at times in recent years, appeared to lack adequate weapons around Mahomes to take the top off of defenses the same way he did earlier in his career. However, 2025 appears set to buck that trend.
The Chiefs will have JuJu Smith-Schuster to go with Xavier Worthy, Hollywood Brown, Skyy Moore, and fourth-round pick Jalen Royals, all while getting Rashee Rice back from injury at wide receiver. Meanwhile, Travis Kelce and Noah Gray both return at tight end, with Isiah Pacheco, Kareem Hunt, and Elijah Mitchell making up a loaded running back room.
In an appearance on Up & Adams, Mahomes said that he thinks this is the deepest offense he’s been a part of and that it’s going to be imperative to make the most of everyone’s talent, brutal words to hear if you’re a fan of any team other than Kansas City.
“I think it’s gonna come from everywhere,” Mahomes said. “Obviously, you’ve got Rashee being back. He looks great. You have Xavier Worthy, who came on so strong at the end of last year. You have Hollywood Brown healthy again. Guys everywhere.
“You add in Travis Kelce, a Hall of Famer. Noah Gray, a great tight end, and everybody that we’ve added to all those different rooms. We have so many weapons. Let’s go out there and just maximize it all. It’s not gonna be just one person. It’s gonna be the entire offense going out there and showcasing what the Kansas City Chiefs truly are.”
If the Chiefs can stay healthy, there’s no reason they can’t get back to the top of the mountain.
