AUSTIN, Texa – Texas forward Kadin Shedrick has signed a contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers to join the team's Summer League squad.
After beginning his career Virginia, the 6-foot-11 Shedrick spent two seasons with the Longhorns from 2023-2025.
The Holly Springs, N.C. native played and started all 35 games last season, leading the team in blocks (58, 1.7 bpg) and while ranking second in rebounding (6.1 rpg), fourth in minutes (26.5 mpg) and fifth in scoring (8.8 ppg).
During his first season with the Longhorns, Shedrick battled numerous injuries.

Shedrick poured in a career-high 27 points on 11-of-15 shooting, adding seven rebounds and three steals in a win over Louisville in the 2023 Empire Classic, a contest which arguably was his finest outing in burnt orange and white.
Last year, Shedrick scored in double figures 16 times, with a season-high of 16 points coming in a team's 89-56 thrashing of LSU in Baton Rouge on Feb. 1.
Throughout his career, Shedrick served as a valuable rim protector, averaging 1.4 blocks per game (207 blocks overall) over his 143 career contests.

Shedrick joins forward Arthur Kaluma and guard Tre Johnson as members of last season's Texas team to sign with NBA clubs.
Kaluma signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Los Angeles Lakers after going undrafted during the final night of the 2025 NBA Draft.
An Exhibit 10 contract is a one-year, minimum salary agreement that isn't guaranteed. It can also include an optional bonus of up to $75,000 that will be rewarded if a player, after he's waived, spends at least 60 days with a team's G-League affiliate. Additionally, any player signed on an Exhibit 10 deal kept on the 15-person roster after the start of the regular season will see their contract converted to a standard rookie minimum deal.
Johnson was drafted by the Washington Wizards with the No. 6 overall pick in the draft after a standout true freshman season, which saw him earn SEC Freshman of the Year honors and lead the conference in scoring, averaging 19.9 points per contest.
NBA Summer League will take place in Las Vegas and runs from July 10-20, featuring all 30 NBA teams. The games will be held at the Thomas & Mack Center on the campus of UNLV.
