Just days before [Real Madrid](https://www.managingmadrid.com)’s highly anticipated Club World Cup semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain, Kylian Mbappé has officially withdrawn his legal complaint of moral harassment against his former club. The development was confirmed by his lawyer, Pierre-Olivier Sur, on Monday.
“We are withdrawing our civil action,” Sur told AFP, signaling an end to the legal proceedings Mbappé initiated over his treatment during the early part of the 2023–24 season.
### Fallout From Contract Stand-Off
Mbappé, alleged that PSG subjected him to unfair treatment after he declined to sign a contract extension. The Frenchman was sidelined from the first-team setup and forced to train with a group of players the club was actively trying to offload. He was also left out of the squad for PSG’s pre-season tour of Asia and missed the opening game of the Ligue 1 campaign.
Though he was eventually reinstated following internal discussions, the episode left a lasting mark—one that sparked not only Mbappé’s personal legal action but also drew the attention of France’s players’ union, which filed a broader complaint over the club’s treatment of out-of-contract players.
### Legal Dispute Over Unpaid Wages Ongoing
While the harassment complaint has been dropped, legal tensions between Mbappé and PSG are far from over. The France captain is currently pursuing €55 million in unpaid wages and bonuses, which he claims the club still owes him.
