Oliver Glasner is expected to add another left-back to his squad ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

The Eagles still await news from Uefa to confirm their place amid club ownership politics but the London outfit appear to be pushing forward with a transfer strategy to best prepare them for Europe. Walter Benitez has arrived from PSV Eindhoven to provide competition in goal for Dean Henderson, and comes to Selhurst Park with Champions League and Europa League experience.

Sosa has played in Serie A and the Bundesliga but admitted that playing in England’s top flight was his dream. He said: "Like many players, I dream of playing in the Premier League one day. It's the strongest league in the world. The other teams besides the big six top clubs are also strong."

Crystal Palace set to sign Borna Sosa

Sosa looks set to become the second addition of the summer with The Athletic reporting that the player had been given permission from Ajax to fly to London and complete a medical on Monday ahead of a £2 million move.

The 27-year-old has also played in the Champions League and Europa League. He’s a Croatian international with 26 caps for the country, featuring heavily in the 2022 World Cup.

Sosa can play either as an attacking left wing back of a left winger and will provide competition for Tyrick Mithcell, following the end of Ben Chilwell’s loan move from Chelsea. The Athletic claims that Sosa has been purchased to work alongside Mitchell, but the latter has been named as a potential outgoing from Selhurst Park this summer.

Tyrick Mitchell linked with Selhurst Park exit

Mitchell has another two years left on his Crystal Palace deal but has admirers in the division and on the continent. The defender has made 189 appearances for the Eagles, 169 of those coming in the Premier League.

Last month, SportsBoom claimed that Manchester United, Leeds United and AFC Bournemouth all held an interest in Mitchell. More recently, CaughtOffside suggested that La Liga giants Atletico Madrid could push to sign the full-back instead of Liverpool target Andrew Robertson.

Crystal Palace are keen to hold onto the player and are in a strong negotiating position thanks to his contract, but the arrival of Sosa could see rumours of a transfer exit for Mitchell gather pace once again.
