"Mr. Jokic has not spoken on the record, at least in English, about this that I've seen, but I was told through secondhand that Jokic was very pleased with the Nuggets' moves," Windhorst said on the latest Hoop Collective podcast.

The Nuggets’ front office has been active this summer, aiming to improve the roster while also cutting costs.

One of the biggest moves was offloading Michael Porter Jr. contract by including a 2032 first-round pick in a trade with the Brooklyn Nets.

In return, Denver received Cam Johnson, a player many see as a better fit alongside Jokic. The deal saved the Nuggets over $17 million in salary and opened the door to additional moves.

Using their new financial flexibility, Denver flipped Dario Saric, who didn’t see much time last season, for Lithuanian center Jonas Valanciunas.

Jokic is coming off another dominant season, finishing second in MVP voting. He averaged 29.6 points, 12.7 rebounds, and 10.2 assists per game, shooting 57.6% from the field and 41.7% from beyond the arc.

Despite his efforts, the Nuggets’ season ended in the Western Conference Semifinals with a 4–3 loss to the eventual champions Oklahoma City Thunder.
