Bayern Munich are desperate to sign a new left-winger this summer, and they are reportedly trying to sign Luis Diaz from Liverpool.
Diaz was outstanding for the Reds in 2024-25, scoring 17 goals and providing five assists in all competitions.
The Colombian forward has a contract at Anfield until 2027, and Liverpool have not offered him a new deal, fuelling speculation over his long-term future.

Bayern have been linked with a move for Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo as well, but as it stands, the Dutchman is not a top priority for them at the moment.
Diaz has emerged as Bayern’s top target. Last week, Max Eberl made a call to Liverpool, where he was told that the 28-year-old winger is not for sale.
However, the situation may have changed in the past few days. The German giants have received enough encouragement to make a move for the Colombian after the player has assured Bayern Munich that he would be willing to move to the Bundesliga.
Bayern could face strong competition from La Liga champions Barcelona for Diaz, who has scored 41 goals for the Reds since joining them in the January 2022 transfer window.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona will try to submit an offer to sign Diaz, who is “keen on the move”. The Reds have already rejected two offers from Barcelona, and the Catalan giants are aware of the difficulty in reaching an agreement.
Sky Germany journalist, Florian Plettenberg, claims that Bayern remain in contact with the player’s camp, but rumours of reaching a personal agreement with Diaz are premature.
Who else could Bayern Munich sign?
Bayern missed out on Nico Williams (who signed a new contract with Athletic Bilbao), and they are unlikely to sign AC Milan’s Rafael Leao and Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola as well.
Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford could be another interesting option for them, as the England international not only meets their requirements but is also available at a decent price.
Rashford has informed Man Utd about his desire to leave Old Trafford this summer. However, as with the case of Diaz, Bayern also face competition from Barcelona for Rashford.
Liverpool are definitely not going to sell Diaz on the cheap. Barcelona failed to register Williams due to financial problems, and they may struggle to do so for Diaz. In that case, Bayern could lure him away to the Allianz Arena with a tempting offer.
