Aston Villa’s summer business looks set to finally kick on.
The Villans faced a tough situation regarding Profit and Sustainability regulations, but have agreed to sell their Women’s team to comply.
That stopped them from having to sell the likes of Jacob Ramsey and Morgan Rogers, who could have been casualties of the crisis.
Now, Unai Emery‘s side will look to move forward and try to secure their place in the Champions League next season, with the Women’s team wanting to replicate that success.

Aston Villa Women close in on England star Roebuck
Just like the men’s team, Aston Villa Women failed to qualify for Europe’s top competition in the Women’s Super League.
The Villans finished sixth and have already started to try and rectify that, and they could make a splash by signing England goalkeeper Ellie Roebuck.

Roebuck is a brilliant signing for Villa
Roebuck has plenty of experience in the top-flight of the English game, having featured 92 times for Manchester City before moving to the Catalan giants.
She was also a part of Sarina Weigman’s Three Lions squad that won the European Championships in 2022 and made the World Cup final in 2023.
Stats Roebuck
Manchester City 92
Barcelona 2
England 11
Roebuck’s total appearances.
The former Citizens star has had a remarkable comeback to the beautiful game, having overcome a stroke at the age of 24 and being told she would never play again.
Villa have already brought in Wolfsburg defender Lynn Wilms and look set to make a real push to finish higher next season.
Natalia Arroyo‘s side won their last five games of last season and will be hoping to take that momentum into the new campaign, and there will be plenty of optimism that they can push on as a result.
If they can bring in a player of Roebuck’s quality and experience, that excitement will only be increased, and it may be hard to contain the noise.
