Newcastle United are willing to offer Chelsea’s Axel Disasi an escape route this summer.
Enzo Maresca hardly utilised the centre-back in the Premier League and Chelsea let him join Aston Villa on loan in the winter market. Disasi has returned to the west London club, but has no future there.
That’s according to RMC Sport, who state several clubs have shown interest in his profile and have ‘begun discussions’ over a move. This includes ‘particularly Newcastle’ in England and ‘especially’ Villarreal in Spain.
Eddie Howe’s side and the La Liga club have both qualified for next season’s Champions League and the report states the Yellow Submarine are more insistent about signing the Blues defender.
The Magpies may have to be wary of this as they are expected to face a tough battle with Villarreal for the France international’s signature.
Disasi’s contract lasts until 2029, and he has an ‘exit ticket’. RMC Sport states Chelsea are hoping to collect €30m from his sale this summer.
To sum it up, the former AS Monaco is on the exit ramp, and both Newcastle and Villarreal have held discussions to sign him.
