A busy 24 hours for the transfer team at Leeds United could see four new players arrive before the end of the working week, with Gabriel Gudmundsson expected to be welcomed at Elland Road.
Gudmundsson made his way to England on the weekend and now Lille’s Swedish left-back has agreed a £10m move to Elland Road. The 26-year-old will sign a four-year deal, said to be worth £69,000 a week.
Following Gudmundsson could well be Sean Longstaff. David Ornstein reported on Monday night that Leeds had agreed personal terms with Longstaff, with Adam Underwood tabling a third bid worth £12m.
Then, Scott Gardner’s U21 side are set to complete a double signing. Two defenders with one expected to join after being released by boyhood club Liverpool, and the other completing a move from Man City.

Bargain fee Leeds are paying Man City to sign Jayden Lienou
Joe Donnohue reported on Monday that Leeds will sign Louis Enohoro-Marcus after his Anfield exit and have agreed a deal with Man City, to sign Wales youth international Jayden Lienou, another left-back.
Immediately after Donnohue’s report, clips of Lienou scoring for Wales’ youth sides emerged on social media with fans excited at the prospect of his addition. Now, Fabrizio Romano has delivered an update.
Reporting the news as an exclusive despite Donnohue’s initial report, Leeds are signing Lienou from Man City but the Italian journalist did reveal how much Underwood is paying – a bargain fee of just £500,000.

How Man City describe Jayden Lienou as Leeds move nears
Clearly, Lienou has some serious talent, and Leeds have moved quickly to land the Welshman. Scott Gardner has lost 10 key players from his U21 side as per Leeds’ retained list and needs replacements.
Underwood has moved to bolster the 21’s, who finished in 17th place out of 26 in last season’s Premier League 2, by bringing in Lienou. City’s website describes him as “technically talented” and “strong”.

They also praise his speed: “Technically talented and capable of keeping up with the speed and attacking qualities needed of a full-back, Lienou is also a strong defender who supports his defensive team-mates.”
Lienou will now be hoping he has found his home after spells in Liverpool’s academy, before a move to Everton until March 2024 when he chose to chance his luck at Man City. Now, Leeds have his signature.
