Fabrizio Romano confirms'new proposal'is now being prepared for Man Utd-linked striker after£51.5m bid was rejected

Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on one Manchester United target and the Red Devils could miss out on bringing the player to Old Trafford for Ruben Amorim.

Ruben Amorim has seen new additions to his Manchester United first-team squad this summer after the arrivals of both Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon at the club.

Matheus Cunha has been United’s marquee summer signing and the Red Devils triggered the £62.5m release clause in the Brazilian’s Wolves contract last month.

Meanwhile, Diego Leon agreed to sign for United back in January and the 18-year-old Paraguayan full-back was finally confirmed as a United player on Saturday.

United are still tipped to have further movement in the transfer market this summer and the Red Devils have been linked with signing a striker and a midfielder.

Amorim is in desperate need of a new striking option at Old Trafford after the struggles of Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee in the frontline last season.

Fabrizio Romano shares a major update on Victor Osimhen amid Man Utd and Galatasaray’s transfer interest

Victor Osimhen has been linked with Manchester United amid the Red Devils’ pursuit of a new striker for Ruben Amorim ahead of the 2025-26 Premier League season.

The 26-year-old Nigerian striker returned to Serie A champions Napoli this summer after his season-long loan deal with Turkish side Galatasaray expired in June.

Victor Osimhen impressed during his spell with the Super Lig champions and the Napoli star scored 37 times in 41 matches across all competitions last season.

Galatasaray have been linked with Osimhen this summer and the Turkish outfit had been tipped to approach Napoli over a permanent move for the Nigeria international.

Fabrizio Romano on X, formerly known as Twitter, now reports that Galatasaray will “approach Napoli again” after their £51.5m (€60m) offer was turned down.

He added that the Super Lig side have a “new proposal” in mind and Galatasaray already have an “agreement” in place for United-linked Osimhen.

How much do Napoli want for Man Utd target Victor Osimhen amid Galatasaray’s transfer pursuit of the Nigeria striker?

According to Romano, talks “continue” over a deal for Victor Osimhen and Napoli “want more than” the £51.5m that had been offered from Galatasaray.

The transfer reporter claimed that Napoli also want “better payment terms” with Galatasaray over Osimhen, who is under contract with the Italian club until 2026.

Gianluca Di Marzio reported that Galatasaray had ‘presented’ their previous offer to Napoli owner and president Aurelio De Laurentiis in their race to sign Osimhen.

However, he added that Osimhen has a £64m (€75m) release clause in his current deal and Napoli ‘do not want to move from that figure’ for the ex-Galatasaray striker.
