Palmeiras have reached a full agreement to sign Ramón Sosa from Nottingham Forest, with the deal valued at $14m, as reported by multiple sources in Brazil.
The transfer brings an end to Sosa’s brief spell at Forest, less than a year after his arrival from Talleres.
The agreement has been described as definitive by the player’s camp, and journalist Fabrizio Romano has also confirmed the deal.
The Premier League side have accepted the offer and concluded the sale, with only final formalities pending before the winger signs with the Brazilian club.
Sosa is expected to join Palmeiras this week, following the end of their Club World Cup campaign in the United States, where they lost to Chelsea last Friday.
The 25-year-old Paraguay international was under contract with Forest until 2028. After struggling for minutes in England, he now returns to South American football in one of Palmeiras’ most expensive signings of the current window.
The player’s next steps remain to be seen, but all indications point to an imminent move once paperwork is completed.
