Bryan Mbeumo has made his way to the United States this week as negotiations between Manchester United and Brentford continue for his signature.
The Cameroonian has been United's priority target for a month but, as of yet, no breakthroughs have been made. The Reds have seen two bids rejected and last week there was talks that a third bid was being prepared.
United remain confident they will eventually sign the 25-year-old but, for now, the wait continues. All this comes against the backdrop of both United and Brentford's players returning to pre-season training.
The Reds welcomed back most of their squad on Monday, including new signing Matheus Cunha. As for Brentford, they have seen only some of their players return to the training base with the squad coming back on a staggered basis.
It appears that Mbeumo's return will be later this month after he shared a picture overnight on his Instagram story in Beverly Hills, California. It appears to be merely a coincidence that the forward is in the United States a couple of weeks before United head out there for their Premier League Series tour.
United will be facing West Ham, Bournemouth and Everton in New Jersey, Chicago and Georgia as part of their pre-season preparations. As for Brentford, their plans have been altogether more difficult to nail down.

They are planning to travel to Portugal for a training camp this month and will play two friendlies in August against QPR and Borussia Monchengladbach. As things stand, it is unclear if Mbeumo will be joining them for those games.
Despite being in America, Mbeumo has kept himself across what is happening in west London having 'liked' a couple of posts of players returning to Brentford's pre-season. The transfer window shuts on Monday, September 1 at 7pm (UK time).
