Takefusa Kubo could soon become the statement transfer to take Everton into the Hill Dickinson Stadium next season.

Everton need to bolster their attacking department in the transfer window, after it was confirmed that Dominic Calvert-Lewin had left L4.

Thierno Barry looks set to take the Englishman’s place as the Toffees’ starting striker, with quality out wide needed to supply the 22-year-old.

Kubo would be an impressive acquisition to reinforce their forward line, as Everton prepare to move to Bramley-Moore Dock.

Everton offered Kubo for £30million

Along with Barry up front, Nicolas Tagliafico could also be one of the new faces signing for the blue half of Merseyside in what would be an excellent move.

Joining them as part of this new look Everton side for next season could be Kubo, who has been discussed by Angus Kinnear and his team.

The I Paper has reported (8 July) that Real Sociedad have been offering their Japanese winger to Premier League clubs with a £30million price tag attached.

Whilst Kubo would be a phenomenal signing for the Blues, they acknowledge likely competition from clubs that can offer European football.

Kubo has been a regular for Real Sociedad in La Liga.

The 24-year-old has impressed for Sociedad over the last three seasons and even featured for the Spanish outfit in the Champions League and Europa League.

Securing the signing of the tricky Japanese winger would be a sizeable upgrade on Jack Harrison, who has been on loan at Everton over the last two campaigns.

Kubo deal is why Everton switched stadiums

The ambitious possible signing of Kubo is a direct example of why Everton opted to move into the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

If other clubs are offering European football to Kubo, Everton must sell him on their ambitious new project, starting with the state-of-the-art stadium.

David Moyes could leverage the new stadium in these negotiations and show how their other ambitious transfer targets can fire them back into Europe after years away.

This will not be easy, and there is no guarantee that it will work, but if Moyes’ side can have an impressive campaign on the pitch next season, then players of Kubo’s quality may begin to regularly sign.
