Leeds United have agreed to sign left-back Gabriel Gudmundsson this week and are pushing on with their interest in Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff, close to agreeing a deal there too.
Daniel Farke has a trio of fresh faces through the doors this summer with Lukas Nmecha, Jaka Bijol and Sebastiaan Bornauw all arriving earlier in the window.
More is expected as the bulk of the squad return for pre-season this week at Thorp Arch, and it appears that Leeds are getting their ducks in a row.

Both players that Leeds are close to signing have entered the final year of their current contracts, representing potentially shrewd value for the 49ers.
Gabriel Gudmundsson a very smart left-back signing, and Sean Longstaff could be useful in midfield
We obviously needed a new left-back (and still need backup) so signing Gudmundsson early in pre-season is great work from the club.
He comes in as a very good fit for how we’re going to have to play next season, largely on the counter with our wide options able to carry the ball well, which he does.
As for Longstaff, it’s not the sort of signing that is going to get fans off their seats, and represents a concern if he’s a guaranteed starter – like Habib Diarra would have been – but he’s certainly good enough to raise the standards in our squad.
Add to that the fact that he would be horrible to play against as an aggressive presser and tough tackler, and you have another midfielder that fits into what Farke and the club want to build: a much sterner Leeds United side.
