“Contacts have been made” – Brighton with intriguing Ferdi Kadıoğlu decision to make

According to a claim in the Turkish media, Galatasaray are ready to enter into negotiations to sign Brighton & Hove Albion defender Ferdi Kadıoğlu.

The Turkey international arrived at the Amex last summer after impressing at Euro 2024, but his debut season in England was blighted by injury.

Subsequently, he’s dropped down the pecking order at Brighton and Galatasaray are reportedly looking to take advantage of the situation and offer a chance to get him back to his best level.

[Aspor’s Zeki Uzundurukan has spoken to Haber Sarikirmizi](https://www.habersarikirmizi.com/galatasaray-haberleri/galatasaray-ferdi-kadioglu-icin-gorusmelere-basladi-h27922.html) about Galatasaray’s interest in the Brighton player and he says contact has been made with the Premier League side.

The journalist said a meeting is being set up between the two clubs and, as previously reported, the Super Lig champions want to loan the left back.

_“Galatasaray want to loan Ferdi Kadioglu from Brighton and even contacts have been made. There is a preparation for a meeting. The interesting thing is that the Fenerbahce camp did not make any attempts. Either he will stay in his team as the 3rd choice left-back or he will come to a team like Galatasaray and play in the Champions League,”_ said Uzundurukan.

Last month, [we covered reports](https://sportwitness.co.uk/shock-as-ferdi-kadioglu-could-return-to-fenerbahce-but-brighton-drop-galatasaray-bomb/) which stated Fenerbahce were looking to re-sign their former player, but faced competition from local rivals Galatasaray. However, it seems with Uzundurukan’s claims, Fener haven’t yet made a move for the Brighton defender.

Kadıoğlu made just eight appearances in all competitions last season, scoring two goals. He’s contracted to the Seagulls until June 2028, and Brighton have a decision to make on the best way forward.
