It’s been a relatively quiet summer so far for Ipswich Town and after spending plenty in the Premier League 12 months ago, they’ve bided their time in the Championship.
So far, David Button is the only new arrival at Portman Road, while Liam Delap’s £30m move to Chelsea is still the biggest story coming out of Suffolk in the last few weeks.
The Tractor Boys kick off their season against Birmingham City in the first Championship fixture of 2025/26, and Kieran McKenna will need to strengthen his side if they are to have an instant return to the Premier League following relegation.
Now, Ipswich have been linked with a move for a player who spent the year in blue-and-white last time out.
Ipswich Town look to hijack a deal for Jens Cajuste
Jens Cajuste made 30 appearances for the Tractor Boys last season in the top flight after joining on loan from Italian giants Napoli, and a return to England is potentially on the cards.

While the midfielder has been linked with a move to Besiktas in Türkiye, a report from Football Italia has stated that the Championship side are looking to hijack that deal.
Cajuste is yet to agree terms with Besiktas and Ipswich may have the opportunity to bring the 25-year-old Sweden international back in for the new season.
Kieran McKenna has to start his summer business soon
There’s no denying that the Tractor Boys do have a squad stacked with quality already ahead of the new season, but improvements must still be made if they are to push for the title.
Sammie Szmodics will be crucial for Ipswich, while Jack Clarke also has a point to prove. However, by bringing Cajuste back to the club, McKenna will be signing a leader for his team and he would excel in the Championship.
Supporters will be keen to see new additions quickly, and after a mixed reaction to the new kits, signing the Swedish midfielder would be the perfect way to get the summer fully underway.
