Callum Wilson is plotting his next move following confirmation of his Newcastle United exit.
It was announced on Monday that Callum Wilson has left Newcastle United, despite the club offering him the chance to remain at St James’ Park. Newcastle offered Wilson an incentivised deal, but he has opted to become a free agent.
Tributes have poured in following the 33-year-old’s decision, with Anthony Gordon calling Wilson an ‘elite’ teammate.
Now Wilson is looking to get some new teammates, as he seeks out a new club.

Callum Wilson could stay in the Premier League with Manchester United
Wilson has been linked with Burnley, but now an even bigger club could have the chance to sign the England international.
That is according to the Athletic, who report that Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign Wilson on a free transfer.
The Red Devils are in the market to sign a striker this summer, but it remains to be seen how they have reacted to the prospect of adding Newcastle’s former number nine to their squad.
Wilson is not the only free agent that has been offered to Man United, with the Athletic listing Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Jamie Vardy too.

Interestingly, Calvert-Lewin is a Newcastle United target following Wilson’s departure.
Manchester United might not be a good move for Callum Wilson
The chance to join a giant club like Manchester United might not necessarily be a perfect opportunity for Wilson.
During his final couple of years at St James’ Park, he played second fiddle to Alexander Isak. Wilson was in and out of the team and often limited to short cameos off the bench. It made it difficult for the striker to build up any rhythm.
It could be a similar story at Old Trafford, as it is difficult to envision Wilson being brought in as Manchester United’s main forward. Given his fitness issues, that would represent a risk for Ruben Amorim.
Wilson could be better off joining a club further down the league, where he is guaranteed to play regularly. That is what he needs to get back to his best and score the goals that Newcastle United fans know he is capable of.
