PFF just ended any outlandish debate on this position group owned by Eagles

Not sure how many people wanted to actually argue about who has the best offensive line in the NFL, but most would probably give it to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Pro Football Focus writer Zoltán Buday was one of those who ranked the Eagles as having the best offensive line in the league. The dominance all starts with the tackles, Lane Johnson and Jordan Mailata.

"The Eagles boast the NFL's best offensive tackle duo, featuring two players who rank at the top of their respective positions. Left tackle Jordan Mailata’s 95.2 PFF overall grade in 2024 led all offensive tackles, while right tackle Lane Johnson’s 88.9 mark placed fifth.

There is some uncertainty along Philadelphia's interior following right guard Mekhi Becton‘s departure, but Landon Dickerson and Cam Jurgens remain to make this the best offensive line in football entering the 2025 season."

How good is the Eagles' offensive line?

PFF this summer had Mailata and Johnson both in the top five for best tackles in the NFL. They also have two of the five best odds to win the new Protector of the Year award in 2025.

Jurgens had some big shoes to fill with Jason Kelce's retirement, but has had no problems so far with a Pro Bowl selection in 2024. He also earned a lucrative contract extension in the offseason for his outstanding field performance.

Dickerson is also rising in the ranks of the top guards in the NFL, as PFF had him with the eighth-best grade in 2024 with 78.6. Whether he will be in the same conversation with the best Eagles linemen, like Johnson and Kelce, is still too early, but he has been consistent in improving each season.

The only question mark on the line is projected starter Tyler Steen, who takes over at right guard for Mekhi Becton. Jurgens praised Steen for stepping into the role during offseason workouts and appears to be the favorite to win the job. The pressure is on Steen to be on the same level as the rest of them.

Even if there is some first full year rust from Steen, he is surrounded by the best in the offense. He will have time to learn from Johnson, Mailata, Dickerson, and Jurgens to become as good as they are.

No position group in Philadelphia has been more consistent than the Eagles, and it will continue to be like that as long as offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland is handling the job.
