Rasmus Hojlund appears to be at the end of his Manchester United journey, as the Denmark international has failed to live up to the role of the first-choice striker.

Back in 2023, Hojlund was bought from Atalanta under the leadership of Erik ten Hag for £73 million, having scored 10 goals and grabbed four assists in 34 games in his debut season with the Serie A side.

However, since moving to Old Trafford, Hojlund hasn’t brought the impact needed for one of the top clubs in the Premier League, especially struggling last season.

The 22-year-old matched his Atalanta stats of 10 goals and four assists, however in 52 appearances, 18 more games than for the Italian side.

During the season, Hojlund ranked as the worst Premier League striker for goals and assists per 90 minutes and for expected goals and assists per 90 minutes, even going 20 straight games with no goal contributions.

Now, The Red Devils are ready to cut their loses with the striker, looking to offload him this summer to create space for a new, proven and reliable striker to come to Old Trafford.

Whilst the coaching staff had initial concerns that finding a suitor would be difficult, Hojlund still is held in high regard in Italy due to his time with Atalanta.

As such, Juventus and Napoli have both considered moves for his recently, with Danish publication TipsBladet reporting Gianluca Di Marzio’s claim that Roma are also looking to the striker.

Whilst the report explains that AC Milan are also considering the Denmark international, it’s Roma who are looking to make a move.

However, it’s understood that any move is more likely to be as a loan deal, at least initially, with his current £30 million valuation being too high to commit to give his recent struggles.
