Everton and Burnley seen as competition to Napoli in €30m midfielder tussle

Everton and Burnley are seen as competitors to Napoli for Benfica midfielder Florentino Luis, with the Italian side pushing for his signature.

That’s [according to A Bola](https://www.abola.pt/?srsltid=AfmBOop_nBYyWfPGzEfAcsGinW1vI2Ny_CewFrhpMyldz1LZHnQTg6oM), who report that Napoli are currently the strong possibility for Florentino, as he eyes a new direction in his career.

The newspaper explains that the Serie A champions have been following the 25-year-old for a long time and were close to moving for him in the January transfer window.

The uncertainty around Antonio Conte at the end of the season stopped a move but that is now sorted and, with midfield departures on the horizon, an offer could be on the way for the Benfica man.

They’re the best placed to move for him at this moment in time, but Everton and Burnley are known as suitors. Indeed, Everton have ‘long been enamoured’ with the midfielder and continue to keep an eye on him.

Burnley, meanwhile, have made enquiries and continue to be interested as they reshape their squad for a return to the Premier League. Scott Parker is a big fan as he came close to signing him when in charge at Fulham.

Benfica want a €30m deal if they are to sell, but have often blocked an exit because managers have insisted they want to keep the midfielder.

They appear to be waiting for Everton, Burnley, Napoli or somebody else to make a move.
