Everton are stepping up their summer recruitment drive, with a number of high-profile and emerging attacking targets under consideration, according to iPaper.
Following the return to pre-season training, the club’s reshaped transfer team – led by CEO Angus Kinnear, manager David Moyes and head of player trading Nick Hammond – are focused on rebuilding a forward line that has lost two strikers and two wingers from last season’s already goal-shy squad.

A deal for Villarreal striker Thierno Barry, reportedly worth £27.5m, could be completed this week, while Everton are also exploring a £25m move for Manchester City’s James McAtee. Moyes is said to be a long-term admirer of the attacking midfielder, though competition exists from Bundesliga clubs, including Borussia Dortmund.
Japan international Takefusa Kubo is another ambitious name under discussion, with intermediaries offering the Real Sociedad winger to Premier League clubs. Ipswich Town’s Omari Hutchinson and West Bromwich Albion’s Tom Fellows are also of interest, though young English talent often comes with a premium.
With around £100m to spend, Everton are targeting a mix of permanent and loan signings to replace all four attacking departures. The i Paper quotes one insider as saying this kind of full-scale attacking rebuild is “something no other Premier League club has tried to do before.”
Meanwhile, Idrissa Gueye has signed on for another season, and there is internal debate about a possible return for Jack Harrison, who had two steady but unspectacular loan spells at Goodison Park.
