Just as former Kentucky Wildcats make up the highest percentage of players from one school in the NBA, the same can be said for this year’s NBA Summer League.
A total of 13 former Cats are playing in this year’s Summer League, including several from this past season’s team.
Amari Williams (Boston Celtics), Andrew Carr (Portland Trail Blazers), Jaxson Robinson (Cleveland Cavaliers), Koby Brea (Phoenix Suns) and Lamont Butler (Atlanta Hawks) are all representing their own team. All five will be looking to earn their spot on a roster — whether it’s with the team they’re playing for or another team watching them from afar.
Last year’s draft class of Antonio Reeves (New Orleans Pelicans), Reed Sheppard (Houston Rockets) and Rob Dillingham (Minnesota Timberwolves) along with Justin Edwards (Philadelphia 76ers) are also playing. All four had decent rookie seasons and are seeking a more involved role with their team.
Chris Livingston (Milwaukee Bucks), Jacob Toppin (Hawks), Keion Brooks (Pelicans) and Lance Ware (New York Knicks) are the remaining four players either representing their own team or looking to make a strong enough impression to earn a long-term deal.
The NBA Summer League’s tips off this Thursday in Las Vegas. The full schedule can be found here.
