Luis Diaz has confirmed he is "very happy" at Liverpool as the winger continues to be linked with a move away from Anfield. The Reds rejected an approach from Bayern Munich for the Colombian last week and reports in Germany have claimed that Diaz is keen on a move to Bavaria.
Barcelona also have a long-term interest in signing Diaz, who has also attracted attention from the Saudi Pro League..
The versatile winger contributed 17 goals across all competitions last term and established himself as a key player in Arne Slot's forward line, filling in as a makeshift centre-forward at times while also competing with Cody Gakpo for a spot on the left side.
As a result, Liverpool have not entertained parting with Diaz and rejected an enquiry from Barcelona last month. With two years left on his current deal, the Premier League champions are relaxed about Diaz's situation, although the 28-year-old is keen to discuss an improvement on his current terms.
And Diaz says he's continuing to negotiate his future, admitting he is happy at Liverpool but stopping short of confirming he'd remain with the club this summer.
He told Colombian influencer Mauricio Gomez: "We’re there, negotiating. We’ll see what can be achieved, for us and for the club. We’ll try to do our best and make the best decision."
Pushed on interest from Saudi side Al-Nassr, he added: "We’re in the process of negotiations, talking with the club, with Liverpool, with everyone who’s approaching us. But I’m very calm where I am, you know, very happy. Trying to make the best decision now."
Liverpool have been planning for life with Diaz as part of the squad that will defend the Premier League title and have not been scouring the market for a replacement on the left wing.
Speaking while on international duty last month, Diaz said: "We are currently in contact with Liverpool, because we are talking to clubs, and that’s normal given the transfer market that’s opening. "We’re trying to arrange what’s best for us.
“We’re talking to clubs, it’s normal in the market and we’re looking at what’s best for us. I’m waiting to see what happens. I’m very happy at Liverpool, I’ve always said so. They’ve welcomed me very well from day one. If they give us a good renewal or I stay there for two years, I’ll be happy. Now it’s up to them.”
Diaz is expected to return to pre-season after the squad were given further time off following the death of their team-mate Diogo Jota in a car crash last week.
