Bournemouth goalkeeper Mark Travers could potentially sign for Everton this transfer window.

Joao Virginia bid farewell to Goodison Park in the Grand Old Lady’s final season hosting the Toffees, and the Portuguese shot-stopper is now a free agent.

David Moyes has also lost Asmir Begovic ahead of next season, leaving the Blues with an evident lack of backup options in between the sticks.

The Merseyside outfit now have their eyes on the Cherries’ 26-year-old goalkeeper who spent the second half of the previous campaign on loan at Middlesbrough.

It’s been claimed that the Blues want the 26-year-old goalkeeper who has two years left on his current contract at the Vitality Stadium.

Jordan Pickford is undoubtedly expected to be the first choice at the Merseyside outfit next season, but Harry Tyrer is the number two in the squad as things stand.

Travers transfer makes sense for Moyes at Hill Dickinson Stadium

Pickford has been influential at Goodison Park over the years, and Moyes will hope the Englishman continues his form at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

The 31-year-old has hardly picked up any injuries over the years, leading to Virginia and Begovic hardly getting any minutes.

Now that the Toffees have lost depth in between the sticks, it makes sense for them to sign reinforcements this summer.

Everton are close to making Thierno Barry their first signing of the ongoing transfer window, but they arguably have other priorities as well.

Travers hasn’t played much for Bournemouth in the Premier League over the years and has been loaned out to Middlesbrough, Stoke City, and Swindon Town.

The 26-year-old will undoubtedly find it hard to get into the Toffees’ starting lineup as long as Pickford is fit.

While the Irishman may want to play regular football at this stage of his career, the chance to play for the Blues doesn’t come around often.

The Merseysiders appear to be making significant progress under Moyes, and exciting times may be on the horizon for Travers in L5.
