“They’re ahead of many other Premier League teams when it comes to German-based talent. So, it’s not a surprise, you know, it’s not going to be a huge surprise. If there’s a good one, Leeds know all about it.”

Most of the players Leeds have targeted this window have gone smoothly. Aside Habib Diarra, most of the transfer deals have been wrapped up in days. Sunderland swooped in and paid a club record fee to sign the former Strasbourg star.

It is said that the 26-year old could complete a move to Elland Road later this week. But Stach very much remains a Hoffenheim player, and has two years left on his current deal.

Stach could be key to Daniel Farke’s midfield

Anton Stach is a very good ball winner, this season, he has been arguably one of the best in the Bundesliga. He often wins the midfield battle for Hoffenheim with how skilled he is at keeping opponents off the ball.

When he has the ball, he has the ability to release the ball quickly. He is not a playmaker or a chance creator, but his ability to make a quick decision after winning possession is why he is rated highly across Europe.
