Sean Longstaff could be about to follow Gabriel Gudmundsson through the entrance at Elland Road and sign for Leeds United – and Carlton Palmer’s 2024 prediction is incredibly exciting.
Leeds could be about to welcome four new faces at Elland Road. Gudmundsson is set to sign a four-year deal and join for £10m from Lille, arriving as a direct replacement for Junior Firpo who has left on a free.
Leeds are adding Louis Enohoro-Marcus and Jayden Lienou to the U21 squad, with the former released by Liverpool this summer. A £500k fee will be paid to Man City for 17-year-old Welsh left-back Lienou.
Adam Underwood has also agreed personal terms with Sean Longstaff. Leeds have made a third bid for the Newcastle star, said to be worth an initial £10m plus £2m more in add-ons. His deal ends next year.

What Carlton Palmer said about Sean Longstaff at Leeds in 2024
It is not the first time Leeds have been linked with Longstaff, with The Whites considering a move for the Newcastle man last summer, if promoted. Of course, Leeds lost the play-off final and any chance ended.
Now promoted, Leeds look close to getting their man. Newcastle are yet to reply to Leeds’ latest offer but there is a belief a deal will be done. Palmer told FLW in 2024 that Longstaff would be loved by Leeds fans.
“He would be more suited to be playing under Daniel Farke. The way that he plays, the way that Daniel likes to play, he would be a fan favourite at Leeds. They love a player who can get around the pitch.
“Gets tackles in and shows some energy. So I think Leeds United would be an absolutely perfect move for him. If they got an offer of around £15-20 million pounds, they would not be averse to letting him go.”

Why Illan Meslier could actually help Leeds get Longstaff
Interestingly, TransferMarkt claim Longstaff is represented by Gol International. The same agency that have Illan Meslier on their books, with Meslier’s agents likely to be working hard to find him a new club.
It might be then, that while Leeds work closely with Gol International regarding Meslier, that relationship helps smooth over a move for Longstaff. Other players linked with Leeds are also on their books.
The likes of Polish goalkeeper Marcin Bulka, who has joined Saudi outfit Neom. Gladbach winger Franck Honorat too, who is a target for Leeds and Carlos Corberan’s Valencia. The connection surely helps.
