Golden State Warriors are reportedly interested in trading Jonathan Kuminga in a sign-and-trade deal, with Boston Celtics guard Derrick White emerging as a potential target.
Derrick White has become one of the most valuable role players in the NBA. But if the Boston Celtics decide to trade him, he would immediately become one of the top names on the market.

According to CBS Sports Brad Botkin, the Golden State Warriors, who are looking to trade Jonathan Kuminga, might see White as a potential target.
“The Warriors are going to try to put Jonathan Kuminga into a sign and trade that brings back a serious player,” Botkin wrote.
“Derrick White makes a ton of sense, but the Celtics are reportedly going to demand an extremely aggressive package along the lines of the five first-round picks the Knicks paid for Mikal Bridges or Orlando’s four-pick package for Desmond Bane.”

That’s a steep price, but it reflects White’s value. He’s one of the best two-way guards in the league and a key piece in Boston’s recent success.
White played 76 games last season and averaged 16.4 points, 4.8 assists, and 4.5 rebounds while shooting 38.4% from beyond the arc.
Kuminga, meanwhile, is younger and full of potential. But he’s reportedly looking for a bigger role — something the Celtics might not be able to offer.
