Nottingham Forest have opened talks to sign PSV Eindhoven star Johan Bakayoko, sources have told Football Insider.
The Premier League club have turned their attention to landing the winger after agreeing to sell Anthony Elanga to Newcastle United for £55million plus add-ons.
Forest want a wide man proven at the top level and able to play on both channels as well as down the middle.
PSV are demanding a fee of between £25m and £30m for Bakayoko, who is of interest to leading clubs across Europe.
It is expected that negotiations could accelerate quickly as Forest look to get a deal done in time for the Belgium international to join their pre-season preparations.
Elanga’s sale could be worth £60m to Forest if certain criteria are met. He will be a club record sale, just two years after previous holder Brennan Johnson’s £47.5m transfer to Tottenham.
