Everton have many opportunities to land deals that can improve their Premier League fortunes.
David Moyes will be hoping deals come thick and fast as July’s mid-point is fast approaching.
As it stands, Everton don’t have any new faces ahead of their opening pre-season game against Accrington Stanley, to fans’ disappointment.
With a week to go until Moyes’ side are back in action, it will no doubt be an opportunity for youngsters to shine, but could also be Thierno Barry’s first time in a Toffees shirt if Barry’s £27m deal gets completed.
The full focus should be on bringing in plenty of players ahead of this game, and Moyes has every right to move in for one star after a £55m development.

The news broke on Monday that Newcastle United had the ‘here we go’ from Fabrizio Romano for Anthony Elanga.

With a £55m deal cemented, Eddie Howe now has plenty of competition from his wide areas, and Moyes should be intrigued.
MORE EVERTON STORIES
This is due to potential players looking for a move with Elanga’s £55m fee seemingly giving him a starting spot.
Everton wanted Elanga in a £30m deal as Moyes could have benefited from his services, but instead, Harvey Barnes could now be an option.
Barnes has shown brilliance during his two-season stay at Newcastle, and Moyes is clearly a big fan of the winger after West Ham tried to sign Barnes for £50m from Leicester City in 2023 (GIVEMESPORT).
It would likely be an expensive deal with Barnes shining in the Premier League, but The Friedkin Group can show their real ambition with this statement signing.

As mentioned, Barnes’ signature is an ambitious one, but Moyes’ winger situation would be solved instantly.
The 27-year-old has proved reliable for the Magpies as 13 goal contributions beg the question of why Newcastle are signing Elanga.
Harvey Barnes’ PL statistics in 24/25
Games played 33
Goal involvements 13 (9G+4A)
Touches in opposition box 135
Chances created per 90 1.33
Duels won 68
Well, with him already being used as a substitute most of the time, Barnes may feel he deserves a starting position.
Everton can provide this and even make him the face of the project at hand, and despite Howe praising him in January 2025 in a press conference, surely Barnes won’t like the premise of Howe’s comments.
“When he’s played this season, especially as a substitute, he’s been fantastic for us,” Howe said.
“He’s really scored some vital goals and made some big contributions to us winning or drawing games.”
The word ‘substitute’ will surely not sit well with Barnes, who somehow is now the third choice behind Elanga and former Toffee Anthony Gordon, with Jacob Murphy even getting ahead of him at times.
Barnes is a fan of Dwight McNeil, and now both players can star in Moyes’ regime, as Barnes no doubt deserves a starting place, and he can find that on Merseyside.
