The drama around Viktor Gyökeres and a potential move to Arsenal continues this week, with the Gunners having made it known they’ll raise their potential offer to €65m plus a further €15m in bonus payments.
Instead, Sporting are holding out for €70m plus €10m, and the player’s camp continue to throw threats via the media. Despite the efforts to turn it all into a transfer war it’s thought there’s a good chance peace could break out and a deal be agreed by the weekend.
Sunderland may well be encouraging Sporting to move quickly in that regard. Tuesday’s edition of [O Jogo](http://ojogo.pt) reports Sporting still want Almeria’s Luis Suárez to replace the Sweden international, but they can’t really go ahead with that until a deal is agreed with Arsenal for Gyökeres.
Almeria want €20-25m for their striker and aren’t going to wait around forever, especially with Sunderland and others keen.
Tuesday’s edition of [Record](http://record.pt) reports Sporting havn’t even started talks with the Spanish club, waiting until they’ve agreed a deal for Gyökeres’ exit. Sunderland, however, are said to have started negotiations, trying to hijack the deal.
That puts Sporting under some pressure and could therefore help Arsenal.
