Luis Diaz breaks silence on Liverpool future

Luis Diaz has finally spoken out about his future for the first time since his last public comments in early June.

There have been several reports circulating regarding the 28-year-old’s future at Liverpool. Addressing those rumours, Diaz said: “At the moment, we are negotiating with Liverpool and all interested parties.”

The Colombian forward is reportedly unhappy with the Merseyside club’s approach to extending his contract. After a strong campaign last season—scoring 17 goals across all competitions and helping Liverpool win the Premier League—he might have expected a salary increase.

He added: “I’m calm and happy at Liverpool, I’ll think it over and try to make the best decision.”

Liverpool reportedly still wants to keep him for the upcoming season, having already rejected multiple approaches from interested clubs.

Last month, during international duty, Diaz also said: “I’m very happy at Liverpool, I’ve always said it. They’ve treated me well since the first day… We’re talking with other clubs.”

He further added: “It’s the transfer window, it’s normal. We’re waiting to see what happens. If Liverpool renew my contract, or if I have to stay the two years I have left, I’ll be happy. It’s up to them.”

Which clubs are interested in Luis Diaz

Two European giants—Barcelona and Bayern Munich—are reportedly considering a move for Diaz.

According to BILD, Diaz has already accepted a verbal agreement with the German side.

Barcelona, meanwhile, are still interested in him after failing to sign Nico Williams a few days ago. According to Diario AS, Diaz’s agents are now pushing to include a compensation clause in case Barcelona fail to register the player.

There is also interest from Saudi Arabia, with Al-Nassr reportedly ready to pay a huge fee. However, Diaz is unlikely to consider a move there, as he prefers to continue playing at the highest level in European football.
