Napoli striker Victor Osimhen snub move to Manchester United amid Galatasaray transfer links
It is time for a fresh start at Manchester United as Ruben Amorim looks to bounce back from the disastrous Premier League campaign the club endured last season. The Red Devils need to build a strong team for the upcoming season as they cannot afford to go another campaign without any real progress. To achieve that, the club needs to bring in reinforcements in the summer.
There was some excitement amongst the fans after United brought in Matheus Cunha from Wolves early in the transfer window. Many fans thought that the INEOS era at M16 was well and truly underway and more signings would be done before the pre-season commenced. But that is not the case, and the Red Devils have struggled to get in more players due to the incompetence shown by the club in the transfer market.

Manchester United face setback as Napoli striker Victor Osimhen snubs move to M16.
It is quite clear that the club needs to address the problems up front quickly. With Rasmus Hojlund struggling to lead the line and facing an uncertain future at M16, the Red Devils must look to bring in an upgrade for next season as the Dane’s replacement. There is an urgent need for a new number nine if Ruben Amorim wants his team to compete in the top half of the Premier League table.
Manchester United look set to miss out on Napoli striker Victor Osimhen
Manchester United are struggling to bring in a new striker for next season. The Red Devils have suffered a major setback after it was reported earlier that Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has rejected a move to Old Trafford in the summer. The Nigeria international does not want to take a pay-cut to join United and is prioritising a move to Galatasaray instead.
Now, Rio Ferdinand shares his thoughts on Osimhen’s proposed move to Turkey. Speaking on talkSPORT, Ferdinand said,
“I’m like a broken record. If anyone listens to my podcast, I’ve said Osimhen for a while now. He’s a centre-forward, he’s experienced, he knows how to score goals at the top level. I’ve seen today that Galatasaray have put a £50million bid in.”
The United legend added,
“I mean, £50m to get a top-class striker, one of the top strikers in the world, is absolute peanuts in today’s market. I’ll be disappointed if he goes to Galatasaray for that type of money when Man United are crying out for a No.9.”
Rio Ferdinand has time and again urged Manchester United to buy Victor Osimhen. The club legend believes that the Napoli striker is experienced and knows how to score goals consistently. Ferdinand then adds that he would be ‘disappointed’ if the Red Devils fail to bring him to M16 amid Galatasaray links, considering he is only worth £50m as of now.
It is fair to say that Osimhen would instantly elevate the quality of the attack if he joins the club next season. The Nigeria international has elite movement inside the box, and he is the perfect player to lead the attacking line at Old Trafford. The 26-year-old likes to be a ‘fox in the box’, and he is also two-footed. The Napoli star’s ability to head the ball is second to none as well.

Now, it remains to be seen how the Salford-based club look to approach the market if they miss out on the prolific striker. The Red Devils have other alternatives lined up as the club prepares for the new season. It was reported earlier that the club is linked with a move for Ollie Watkins and consider the England international to be a shrewd signing if Aston Villa are open to sell the striker in the summer.
