Arsenal 'consider Eberechi Eze swap deal' and could unlock £50m transfer

According to The Sun, Arsenal are willing to include an unnamed emerging star who has played a handful of first team games in their deal for Eze.

The 27-year-old winger is open to the move and has been training in anticipation, but he wants a deal that makes everybody happy before agreeing to the transfer.

Eze is also said to be grateful for the role he’s played in Palace’s history and is determined not to sour his relationship with his current employers.

Arsenal transfer chief Andrea Berta has reportedly held talks with Eze’s representatives over a move to north London.

But the Gunners could face competition from Tottenham, who are also keen to land the player, with Bayern Munich and Liverpool also thought to be interested in securing his services.

Eze has a release clause of £68million, with Palace determined to extract the full amount before sanctioning his exit. But Arsenal will be aiming to knock a lump sum off the transfer fee if they can get the Eagles to agree to a swap deal before the summer transfer window closes.

The report adds that Palace might consider accepting a promising defender as part of the deal. And that could pave the way for Marc Guehi to follow Eze through the Selhurst Park exit.

Centre-back Guehi has attracted attention from a host of Premier League clubs, with Palace rejecting four bids from Newcastle last summer. Tottenham then had an offer of £55million plus a further £15m in add-ons turned down in January.

Liverpool are the latest club to show an interest in the England international, with Jarell Quansah departing the Reds to join Bayer Leverkusen and Ibrahima Konate in the final year of his contract.

But Arne Slot’s side reportedly have no plans to pay anywhere close to the £45m-£50m that Palace are now said to be after and will only advance their interest if the Eagles’ asking price drops significantly.
