Premier League champions Liverpool begin their pre-season preparations with a friendly against Championship side Preston North End later this month.
The Reds face Preston at Deepdale, before embarking on a tour of Asia during which they will face AC Milan and Yokohama F. Marinos, before a friendly against Athletic Bilbao at Anfield in August.
Arne Slot’s side cruised to the Premier League title last term and have since strengthened, with Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz all arriving at Anfield.
Now, though, it has emerged that the Merseyside giants are interested in a Serie A defender.
As per TBR Football, Liverpool are one of a number of clubs keeping tabs on Parma’s Giovanni Leoni.
The 18-year-old has just enjoyed an impressive breakthrough campaign for Parma, making 18 appearances for the club in the Italian top flight.

It is claimed that Chelsea, Bournemouth, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are all also interested in the teenage centre-back.
Serie A ginats Juventus, Inter Milan and AC Milan are all also created with an interest in the defender.
Leoni joined Parma from fellow Italian side Sampdoria last summer for a fee of around £10 million, and his current side are said to be intent on keeping hold of the player despite interest from elsewhere.
While the teenager may have played just 33 senior games throughout the entirety of his career so far, he has impressed and attracted significant interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
The Italy under-19 defender is under contract with Parma until the end of the 2028/29 campaign.
