Manchester United are reportedly keeping tabs on Fiorentina striker Moise Kean but their effort to sign the Italian may be tougher than normal. Ruben Amorim's side are chasing reinforcements to join Matheus Cunha through the door at Old Trafford.

Their pursuit of Bryan Mbeumo continues but United are expected to continue their hunt for an out-and-out striker - should the Cameroon international sign. According to The Athletic, former Everton striker Moise Kean is on the radar with time running out until his €52million (£44.9m) release clause expires on July 15.

The 25-year-old enjoyed a superb debut season in Florence after netting 19 goals in 32 appearances to help the Serie A side qualify for the UEFA Conference League.

In the report from The Athletic, United are named as the Premier League club interested in Kean with Amorim's side keeping tabs on the striker.

It has been suggested that he joins the likes of Hugo Ekitike and Ollie Watkins as possible attacking targets for the club as they look to rewrite the wrongs of last season and establish United back among the Champions League hopefuls.

But the purported pursuit of Kean may not be too straightforward after the ex-Everton man spoke openly about his time at Goodison Park including the assertion that 'these people are out of their minds'. Kean, it appears, is no fan of the weather in the North West of England.

"They were so used to not seeing the sun, they were barbecuing on the beach in winter," he told The Athletic previously.

"They were in short sleeves in winter. I said to myself: ‘These people are out of their minds’. But England made me learn a lot about myself.

"I matured a lot. When I got there I didn’t play much. I used to think, ‘How am I not getting into this team, at Everton?’

"Mentally, it made me evolve. I wasn’t playing and it was in dark times that I knew I had to grit my teeth and train even more.

"Then the chance to go to PSG (on loan) came along, I moved there and got everything out of myself that I could. I wasn’t playing at Everton and I knew I had to give triple, that’s how it went."
