Former Liverpool CEO Peter Moore has become a minority shareholder and board advisor at Polish club Wisla Krakow.
The business executive was in charge at Anfield between 2017 and 2020, a period in which the Reds won the Champions League and Premier League under Jurgen Klopp. He also oversaw the slick off-the-field operation at Liverpool under FSG, which was headed up by Michael Edwards, Ian Graham and co.
Moore, who was born in Liverpool, left the club in 2020 and he went on to work with Wrexham and US-based Santa Barbara Sky FC. His investment in Wisla will hopefully see the 14-time Poland champions return to former glories, and Moore has bought a five percent share in the club.
Only Legia Warsaw has won more Polish league titles, but Wisla has played in the second tier since 2022.
Announcing the news on social media, Moore wrote: “I’m proud to announce that I’ve joined Wisła Kraków as a minority owner. This is one of Poland’s most historic and beloved football clubs.
“What drew me to Wisła wasn’t just its legacy on the pitch — it was the club’s powerful commitment to its community.

“Having recently visited Kraków, it was clear to me that football isn’t just a game there, it’s a force for social good, unity, and pride. That aligns with everything I believe the game can and should be.
“To be part of a club that uses its platform to lift up its people was core to our belief at Liverpool FC… that’s what inspires me. That’s why I’m here.”
Moore was involved in many charitable and community initiatives during his time at Liverpool, and he and his wife Debbie were appointed life presidents of Merseyside's Fans Supporting Foodbanks initiative in 2020. Moore has also worked with Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and the new Clatterbridge Cancer Centre in Liverpool.
“Peter is not only one of the most decorated people in the world of sports and technology. There has never been such a man in Polish football," Jaroslaw Krolewski, Wisla’s President of the Management Board, and the club’s majority owner, told the club's website.
“He is a man who deeply understands what clubs like Wisła really are - they are carriers of history, identity and community. Thanks to his support and belief in our project, we are entering a new phase with courage, confidence and a global perspective.
“For me as the president, it is particularly important that Peter was behind initiatives that have really changed the world - not only in football, but also in technology, entertainment and education.
“His belief in the power of club communities, his modesty and readiness to support the development of Poland by sharing knowledge, experience and best global practices after his successes in the Western world - is something exceptional. This is a gesture of great significance, which shows how inspiring this cooperation can be.”
