Kyle Walker has told Burnley what he thinks of Erling Haaland now that he has left Man City

Kyle Walker’s Manchester City career came to an end last week.

After spending the last eight years at the Etihad Stadium, Walker completed a shock move to Burnley, which allowed Man City to receive some money as the 35-year-old’s contract was set to expire in 2026.

The Englishman was expected to leave the Manchester club ahead of the 25/26 campaign, as Walker was no longer in Pep Guardiola’s plans, despite being a key figure throughout the legendary coach’s reign at Man City.

Now that he has departed the Premier League giants, Walker has been speaking about some of his former Man City teammates, telling Burnley how he feels about them.

Kyle Walker thinks Erling Haaland is a ‘clinical’ striker

Walker played alongside some incredible stars during his time at Man City, and when it comes to strikers, only Sergio Aguero can rival the impact Erling Haaland has had at the Manchester club since he arrived from Borussia Dortmund in 2022.

Kevin De Bruyne believes Haaland is better than Aguero, which is certainly a debate amongst City fans. When asked how he would describe the Norwegian striker, Walker told Burnley’s TikTok account that the 24-year-old is “clinical.”

The former Man City star was also asked to describe De Bruyne, to which the 35-year-old labelled the Belgian as “brilliant.”

Walker’s former teammates will be happy to hear that the defender rates them so highly after seeing them in action as much as anyone, but there is still room for Haaland to go up a level.

Man City need Erling Haaland more than ever

Last season was the worst campaign Haaland has experienced at Man City as the striker lacked form, suffered with injuries, and missed one of the most important penalties over the last 12 months in the FA Cup final against Crystal Palace.

Guardiola has added new stars to help create more opportunities for the 24-year-old, and Gary Lineker is excited to see how Haaland and Rayan Cherki link up next season.

If Man City are to win major trophies during the upcoming campaign, they will need the superstar striker to be in form, and if the Norway international can somehow replicate his first season in Manchester, it could provide the same end results.
