Rasmus Hojlund in fresh Man United transfer claim as striker'offered'move

Rasmus Hojlund

Rasmus Hojlund could leave Man United this summer

Several players continue to be linked with and the current focus is to secure a deal for Bryan Mbeumo.

So far, United have signed and Diego Leon from and Cerro Porteno respectively. New additions will likely have an influence on how the Reds' 2025/26 season pans out after a disappointing campaign.

Meanwhile, Victor Lindelof, Jonny Evans, and Christian Eriksen have all departed the club on free transfers. Evans has retired from playing and taken up a new role as United’s head of loans and pathways, while Lindelof and Eriksen are set to pursue new challenges elsewhere.

Here, MEN Sport has taken a look at the latest headlines from in and around Old Trafford.

Rasmus Hojlund interest

AS Roma are 'expected' to come forward for Rasmus Hojlund in the coming days, according to . The Italian giants are looking to sign a new attacker following the departure of Tammy Abraham to Besiktas.

It's claimed that Hojlund is among the profiles being monitored by Roma and they are set to approach United over a potential transfer in the 'next days'.

The Reds reportedly value the 22-year-old at £39million (€45m), which is considered to be a figure 'too high' for Roma. The report suggests they could look at the loan option.

MEN Sport says: Selling one of the attacking players this summer is perhaps on United's to-do list, given the plans a new striker will be signed. Between Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee, it perhaps makes more sense for Hojlund to get more experience elsewhere and potentially raise his value.

If he does leave on loan and does well, as he would likely be one of the main men, then United could be in line to recoup some of the money spent on him if they decide to sell.

Striker 'offered' to Reds

According to , United have been offered the opportunity to sign Leicester icon Jamie Vardy this summer. Vardy remains a free agent having left the King Power Stadium at the end of his contract.

He has scored 200 goals in 500 appearances for the Foxes and despite being 38, feels he can still perform in the Premier League.

It is believed that United will only consider the striker if they are unable to bag any of their top transfer targets.

MEN Sport says: As much as Vardy is a respected figure in English football, having enjoyed a remarkable career with Leicester City, the opportunity for him to join United has passed. At 38 years old, bringing him in, especially on a free transfer, would contradict the club’s current strategy of building a younger, more dynamic squad focused on long-term development.

While Vardy’s experience and instinct in front of goal are unquestionable, United appear focused on investing in emerging talent rather than short-term solutions.
