Manchester United remain locked in talks with Brentford over their bid to sign striker Bryan Mbeumo.
United are confident they can strike a deal with Brentford for Mbeumo, despite them having had two bids already knocked back. Brentford rejected United's initial offer of £55million for Mbeumo, then knocked back a second bid of £62.5m – the same figure the Red Devils paid Wolves for Matheus Cunha.
United are expected to have to go to £65m to reach an agreement with Brentford over Mbeumo, with negotiations ongoing between the two clubs over the fee and the structure of payments.
Ruben Amorim is keen to have Mbeumo on board for when United leave for their three-game pre-season tour of the US on July 22, where they will play West Ham, Bournemouth and Everton.
United have already signed Cunha and young defender Diego Leon, and are hopeful of adding Mbeumo to their squad within the next week, as Amorim continues his squad rebuild.
A new striker is the next position United are looking to address, having seen Liam Delap join Chelsea and with Amorim's former Sporting Lisbon forward Viktor Gyokeres closing in on a move to Arsenal.
United are now looking at alternative No.9 targets, including Eintracht Frankfurt's Hugo Ekitike.
United have also been offered former Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who is a free agent after his contract with the Toffees expired at the end of last season.

The club are also looking to offload a number of players who are surplus to requirements, including Marcus Rashford.
The Red Devils academy graduate, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, Tyrell Malacia and Jadon Sancho have all been told to stay away from training after informing the club they wish to move on.
United will now try to find suitors for all five players in order to raise further funds for Amorim to operate with in the transfer market.
