Man United hold strong interest to sign out-of-favour Chelsea star

Man United are showing strong interest in one Chelsea star. The player has already fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge. He is willing to leave and the Blues have given him green light. The West London club have also place a price tag on his head.

The star in question here is Christopher Nkunku. Chelsea signed him in summer 2023 for £52 million. Nkunku was superb for Leipzig due to which the Blues agreed to pay this fee. But, the deal has resulted in failure for both player and the club.

Nkunku was seriously injured in his first season. This kept him out of action for the majority of the season. The player returned to full fitness this season. But, he was unable to establish himself as regular starter due to Enzo Maresca preferring other players.

As a result, Nkunku wanted to leave in the January window itself. But, no club was open to match Chelsea’s valuation. As a result, he had to stay with the Blues but will be allowed to leave this summer. Chelsea want £35 million for him.

Man United serious to sign Christopher Nkunku

According to Fichajes, United view Nkunku as a perfect fit in thier plans. They think the Frenchman will be great asset to Ruben Amorim. The 27 year old is highly versatile and hence, the Red Devils feel that he will add creativity and goals.

United are set to part ways with all Sancho, Antony, Rashford and Garnacho. This will force them to add quality attackers. They have already signed Cunha and are very close to sign Mbeumo. Now, the Red Devils are keen to sign Nkunku.

However, United will not end their summer with Nkunku’s signing. They still need a new striker who can score regularly. As of now, they have Ollie Watkins as top target. If United manage to sign both Nkunku and Watkins, it will turn out to be a successful transfer window for them.
