Soon, the Dallas Cowboys will gather for their annual training camp. It appears that the team's franchise quarterback, Dak Prescott, will be available to participate in full after recovering from an injury.
"Dak Prescott said he is fully healthy and ready to go for training camp from his hamstring surgery, pending one more checkup with the team doctors," ESPN's Todd Archer reported on Tuesday. "No surprise considering he took part in all of the drills in the offseason program."
Prescott is spending his free time this week hosting a free camp for local kids. The veteran quarterback will soon ramp up for a critical season with the Cowboys, who have a lot of work to do in the NFC East.
It's no surprise that Prescott's worst season occurred in 2024. As he suffered a hamstring injury, the veteran quarterback appeared in just eight games. However, during that stretch, Prescott struggled to uplift the Cowboys as they came off a 12-5 year in 2023.

When Prescott went down in 2024, he had a 3-5 record. The star quarterback had completed 65 percent of his passes for 1,978 yards. He had 11 touchdowns, but eight interceptions.
With Prescott going into year two of his major $240 million extension, there is a lot of pressure placed on him to perform at an elite level. Despite the struggles he had in 2024 before going down with an injury, Prescott proved he could reach great heights during the previous season.
Amid the Cowboys' 12-5 run, Prescott led the NFL in completions and passing touchdowns. He completed 70 percent of his passes for over 4,500 yards. The Cowboys quarterback tossed 36 touchdowns to just nine interceptions. He posted a career-high passer rating of 105.9. Along with his passing, Prescott rushed 55 times for 242 yards and two touchdowns.
Sharing a division with the reigning Super Bowl Champions and the NFC runner-ups, the Cowboys have some catching up to do. Since the organization invested in that major extension in Prescott, they've shown confidence in his ability to be the leader to get them to the biggest stage in football. Now that he's fully healthy, Prescott will soon get to working on his comeback season.
At this point, Prescott has 122 games under his belt. He's achieved a total record of 74-46, since winning over the starting job in 2016 during his rookie season.
