Ruben Amorim still hopes to sign a striker in the summer transfer window as he looks to overhaul his Manchester United forward line. United have so far added Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon to their first-team squad, with talks ongoing over a proposed deal for Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo.
United will be able to fund their move for Mbeumo from their initial summer transfer budget, though any move for a striker will depend on player sales first. The club has granted an extended summer break to five players after they expressed an interest in pursuing a career elsewhere and will need to sell a couple of them to reinvest in their squad.
It means there is an element of uncertainty regarding their budget for a striker. At the same time, United have already missed out on preferred target Liam Delap, and dream addition Viktor Gyokeres is set to join Arsenal.
