Dallas Cowboys Get Game-Changing Update on Dak Prescott for Training Camp

2024 was not a great year for the Dallas Cowboys, but the team might not be as far from contention as most people think heading into this season.

Despite Dak Prescott missing nine games last season because of a hamstring injury that needed surgery, Dallas went 7-10, which isn’t catastrophic, especially considering the circumstances.

Defensive players like Trevon Diggs, DeMarcus Lawrence, and DeMarvion Overshown also missed significant time due to injury, and the team never had the chance to reach their full potential.

As we get closer to the new season, the Cowboys are gearing up for a major bounce-back season, with their franchise quarterback expected to be ready to go at training camp in two weeks.

“I’m as healthy as can be. I’ll be a full go for camp,” Prescott said. “I’m healthy, I think soon here I’ll probably get an official sign off from the doctor.”

Having a healthy Prescott completely changes everything for Dallas. In 2023, he competed for the NFL MVP award by throwing for 36 touchdowns and only nine interceptions. If he’s able to get back to playing in a tier at least close to that, the Cowboys will be a contender.

The team added star wide receiver George Pickens, who should fit like a glove alongside Ceedee Lamb. Pickens is one of the most dangerous deep threats in the league, and his arrival allows for Lamb to be moved around the formation more.

When asked about building chemistry with Pickens, Prescott kept it simple, noting that the Georgia product just needs the ball in his hands.

"You turn on that guy's tape. He's getting separation. He's got separation even when he's not getting the ball at times,” Prescott said. “And when he doesn't have separation, he's still making the catches. For me, it's about getting that ball near that guy and letting him go be George Pickens."
